James was the half-brother of Jesus Christ and his book of the New Testament may have been the first book of the New Testament ever written.

The focus of James is how Christian faith works. That is, James teaches us that true believers in Jesus Christ show their faith through their works (James 2:18). Every paragraph in the book of James contains a command, which shows that the works of faith James describes are intentional.
